Become a Game Changing Volunteer

At First Tee – Greater Charleston, we help kids discover what’s inside of them, guide them to strengthen it and mentor them to put it into action—on the golf course and beyond. To do this, we need enthusiastic and caring individuals to serve as positive mentors and role models to kids and teens from all walks of life.

You don’t have to be a golf pro (or even a good golfer); we will provide the training you need to help kids feel safe, included, and empowered.

We currently need volunteers who can:

  • Assist with On-Course Golf & Life Skills classes as a volunteer golf coach at Charleston Municipal, Patriots Point Golf Links, Dunes West Golf & River Club, Shadowmoss Golf Club, Wescott Golf Club, The Club at Pine Forest, and Berkeley Country Club. Classes are hosted once a week for 8 weeks during “after school” hours. We ask that volunteer coaches attend 6 of the 8 classes to build a rapport with participants. Please complete our volunteer form to learn more.
  • Drive a bus or mentor for our Pathfinder Immersion Program. Programming is hosted on Saturday mornings during the school year and 8:00am-4:00pm during the school year. Our greatest needs are on Saturdays throughout the school year. Program locations vary. Volunteer/mentor commitment levels are usually once per month. Please complete our volunteer form to learn more.
  • Take program and event photos. Please contact [email protected] to learn more.
  • Help with fundraising, events, and administrative tasks. Please contact [email protected] to learn more.

We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. All employees, coaches, and volunteers must complete a background check and SafeSport training. Please review our Youth Safety Policy to learn more about how we protect our program participants and the volunteers who work with them.
